ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Benjamin Golić, currently pursuing my Master’s in Mobile Computing at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Campus Hagenberg.
I am a Software Engineer focusing on iOS and Web Technologies. My goal is to build applications that work reliably and feel great to use. I enjoy the challenge of turning ideas into functional software and am constantly striving to write cleaner, more efficient code.
I am passionate about bridging the gap between research and real-world application. With SpotHopper, I built a full-stack recommendation app to evaluate the effectiveness of hybrid machine learning for personalized suggestions. Similarly, Pokédex allowed me to experiment with on-device computer vision to bridge the digital and physical world. Beyond academic prototypes, I understand the realities of shipping software: I designed, developed, and published RGBle entirely on my own, managing the full lifecycle from the first line of code to the final App Store release.
My expertise is built on a multidisciplinary foundation from HTL Leonding (IT-Media Technology). There, I learned to combine technical fundamentals, such as System Engineering and Databases, with broad expertise in Media Technology and Design. During my Bachelor’s in Mobile Computing, I channeled this broad knowledge into a deep specialization in native mobile engineering, excelling in Advanced iOS Development and Mobile Games.
I am looking for opportunities to apply these skills in a professional team, deepen my knowledge in software engineering, and build products that bring real value to users.

Built a custom WordPress website with an integrated booking system and SMS notifications for a local barbershop in Linz.
APERTA: Smart Garage Door System
Co-developed a smart garage door system with license plate recognition, RFID, and a React-based Webshop for my HTL Diploma Thesis.
SESAME: Smart Door Lock System
Co-developed a smart door system with facial recognition, featuring an Angular-based web interface for managing access and live feeds.
